RAM Software Systems, Inc. - Real-time Web Connection to SYMIX/SyteLine

RAM's Real-time Web Connection to SYMIX / SyteLine Order Entry will allow any registered user to enter new orders or view the status of current orders. Your customers will be able to see their unique pricing for the products your company chooses to make available over the Real-time Web Connection.

Your company has the choice of opening up the entire product line or restricting the products to be sold over the Internet. Your company can even set the restriction so that the users can only order customer specific products.

RAM's Real-time Web Connection to the SYMIX / SyteLine Order Entry system, has been designed to allow the user to enter an order with a minimum number of keystrokes. We have included a "Copy Order" function that will permit the user to create a new order from an existing one. The user then can edit the new order as desired. The customer will be able to set a priority level to indicate a "Rush Order" requesting the fastest delivery possible.

If your company has the customer item cross reference available in SYMIX / SyteLine, the user can enter either the standard part number or his company part number when entering an order. The Real-time Web Connection provides a part number lookup, if the user does not know the exact part number required.

SyteLine's standard credit-limit checks are performed during the order. Your company may choose to allow or deny the user the ability to create new orders once his company credit-limit is exceeded or his company is on credit-hold.

Once the user submits the order for processing, the order will be added into the SYMIX / SyteLine database. An email will then be sent to the appropriate personnel at your company indicating an order has been created. An Order Verification will be printed at your location, and an email order confirmation will be sent to the user.

Security
Your customer will also be able to register online at your website. The required registration information will include: User Name, Company, Company Address, Email Address and other criteria that your company may require.

The completed registration request will be emailed to the appropriate personnel in your company. If it is determined that this user is eligible to order products via your Real-time Web Connection, you will assign a valid login and password to be used each time the user accesses your Real-time Web Connection.

You may already have a website hosted by your local ISP. We recommend placing a link from your current website to an internal Internet server that is dedicated to the SYMIX / SyteLine Real-time Web Connection. The Internet server will handle all Internet traffic and updates to the SYMIX / SyteLine production system. This will provide the security to prevent an Internet user from having direct access to your SYMIX / SyteLine system.

RAM can also provide the hardware and software needed to build the Internet server and other networking devices to protect your internal network. We can integrate the Order Entry Real-time Web Connection into an existing LAN/WAN or build the LAN from the ground up if required!

Credit Card Payment Option
The credit card payment option will permit the user to use a credit card to order products over your Real-time Web Connection. In addition to the credit card payment option software, your company must acquire a secure id certificate from a Certificate of Authority such as Verisign and a merchant account with Cyber Cash or other credit card processor.
